Captain Karina Age Mid 20s Gender Female Height 5'10" Build STRONK Species Human First Impressions Tall, tough, and commanding, Karina takes up a lot of space wherever she goes and makes no apologies for it. It doesn't take more than a glance to figure out that she's a pirate, given the big black hat she's always wearing and the patch over her right eye. It's just as good of a guess that she's a captain, simply by looking at the sturdy, assertive way she carries herself with every step and action—if anything, she tends to be a little on the bombastic side, and always in full confidence. She has a metric fuckton of wild blonde hair spilling down past her knees but kept in a few ponytails at a time. She wears a lot of leather, but no real armor, although she always wears heavy, tough boots and arm bracers. If anything, her clothes tend to be pretty revealing; short skirts and front-tie tops paired with open shirts or overskirts for flair more than functionality. Despite her official art giving her the generic big titty anime girl body type, I refuse to live in a world where this pirate captain lady who spends all day swinging axes around isn't fucking SWOLE so listen, please, she's got the arm muscles and abs of an amazon. She'll flex for you if you ask. She speaks with a hilariously stereotypical pirate drawl, peppered liberally with "yar"s and the occasional "scallywag" and everything. After a lifetime of being surrounded by selfish, hapless nobles constantly in the midst of petty succession disputes and worthless factional arguments, Karina, miserable in the restrictive life she'd been born into, decided she had enough. She ran away, made it about ten feet, and was immediately kidnapped by pirates. She then proceeded to fight them and win, and, in no time at all, became their captain. Above all else, Karina values freedom. Someone tried to rob her of her own and her life, and so she stole it right back. While her "it's rob or be robbed" philosophy might seem brutal, she insists that your life is yours and yours alone, and it's up to you to seize hat you want from it. She's the sole woman on her pirate ship, but her crew have nothing but respect and loyalty to her—she's more than earned it, and while she's stern with them, she takes good care of them. They defend her honor vehemently, but apologize and quiet immediately when she tells them to stop being rude or creepy. Karina insists that you need to be able to clean, cook, and wash for yourself to be a real adult, and so her men are not only capable fighters, but taught to clean, do laundry, and sew, and they eagerly put themselves to work during their residence at the protagonist's castle. Her fierceness and strength have them at her beck and call, but her caring and encouragement have these big, scary men weeping when they separate. Karina has no respect for people who won't take responsibility for themselves, and she's especially tough on royals. That said, she takes care of her own. She's a good judge of people, and will be quick to offer her aid to people with good intentions and a strong spirit. Whether it's a strong pep talk or a hard reality check, she's good at offering what you need. She's also a beast in battle and she makes a mean breakfast, so, like, you probably want her on your side. Karina slots easily enough into any standard fantasy/JRPG-adjacent setting, but I reeeally like jamjar style settings. Karina works very well in adventure, exploration, and mission sort of scenes! She bounces off well other other adventurous types, as well as anyone who needs some tough love and/or a swift kick in the butt.
